The Saudi Accreditation Center (SAAC) and the Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening cooperation in accreditation and conformity assessment for data and artificial intelligence initiatives, supporting their quality and reliability, developing technical capabilities, and exchanging expertise and knowledge in related fields. The MoU was signed on the sidelines of LEAP 2026 in Riyadh.
The MoU was signed on behalf of the Saudi Accreditation Center by Dr. Fahad Ibrahim Almoqhim, General Manager of Information Technology, and on behalf of SDAIA by Eng. Abdulhadi Alqahtani, Acting CEO of the National Data Management Sector.
The MoU includes cooperation in conformity assessment for data and artificial intelligence initiatives launched by SDAIA, as well as leveraging accreditation services for activities related to the Authority, contributing to enhancing the quality and reliability of these activities.
Areas of cooperation also include providing training and technical capacity-building services for SDAIA personnel, exchanging scientific and practical expertise between the two parties, and sharing data, research, and studies of mutual interest. These efforts are intended to develop technical and knowledge capabilities and promote knowledge exchange in areas related to accreditation, data, and artificial intelligence.
The MoU forms part of efforts to strengthen strategic partnerships, support the development of the quality ecosystem, and advance technical practices, contributing to the achievement of the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
