Saudi Accreditation Center and Saudi Electricity Company Sign MoU to Enhance Technical Cooperation and Quality Ecosystem

The Saudi Accreditation Center has concluded a joint Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Electricity Company at the Saudi Electricity Company's headquarters in Riyadh. The agreement establishes a framework to strengthen collaboration in accreditation fields and elevate the reliability of technical services, driving up operational quality and efficiency across the sector.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Hassan Al-Wohaibi, Deputy CEO for Operations at the Saudi Accreditation Center, and Eng. Nasser Al-Sulami, Vice President of Technical Services at the Saudi Electricity Company.

Under the partnership, the Saudi Accreditation Center will extend its accreditation services to cover the Saudi Electricity Company’s diverse operational activities. This framework enables the company to utilize laboratories, inspection bodies, and certification entities accredited by the Saudi Accreditation Center, ensuring highly reliable technical results and aligning utility operations with top-tier national and international benchmarks.

The strategic cooperation also places a strong emphasis on mutual knowledge transfer and institutional capacity building. Both sides will share expertise, run specialized technical training programs, and step up joint administrative, scientific, and research initiatives aimed at developing national talent within the quality control and accreditation spheres.

This initiative falls within the Saudi Accreditation Center's broader strategy to expand its network of public and private sector partnerships, ultimately supporting the development of the Kingdom's quality infrastructure and directly contributing to the strategic objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

His Excellency Dr. Adel Alkeaid, Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Accreditation Center, presented the accreditation certificate for the laboratories of the Quality Control Department at the Air Defense Forces Supply and Logistics Authority, represented by its President, His Excellency Major General Ali bin Manea Alomari, in accordance with the international standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

SAAC Organizes World Accreditation Day Forum 2026

The Saudi Accreditation Center organized the World Accreditation Day Forum 2026, which is celebrated annually on 9 June. This year’s forum was held under the theme: “Accreditation: Empowering Innovation, Trust, and Sustainability”, at the SAAC’s headquarters in Riyadh, with the participation of a number of government and private entities, as well as specialists and stakeholders in the fields of quality, accreditation, and conformity assessment.

The forum was held as part of the SAAC’s efforts to highlight the role of accreditation and raise awareness of its importance and impact in supporting the quality infrastructure, enhancing the competence of conformity assessment bodies, and contributing to improving the quality of products and services provided to beneficiaries locally and internationally.

The forum was inaugurated by His Excellency the CEO of the Saudi Accreditation Center, Dr. Adel Alkeaid, who delivered a speech addressing the role of accreditation in supporting the Kingdom’s quality infrastructure. He emphasized its contribution to enabling conformity assessment bodies to perform their activities in accordance with international requirements, thereby enhancing the quality of products and services and supporting the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

His Excellency thanked the participating entities, commending the integration of their roles with SAAC in developing and enhancing the efficiency of the conformity assessment sector. He affirmed that such integration represents a key pillar in strengthening the impact of accreditation across vital sectors and in embedding the concepts of innovation, trust, and sustainability within the quality ecosystem.

The forum featured a number of presentations delivered by government entities concerned with the quality ecosystem, including the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization; the Saudi Building Code National Committee; the National Measurement and Calibration Center; and the National Committee for Conformity Assessment Bodies at the Federation of Saudi Chambers. The presentations addressed the role of Saudi accreditation in supporting the Kingdom’s quality infrastructure, inspection under the Saudi Building Code, the role of measurement and calibration in enabling conformity assessment bodies, the impact of accreditation on developing the conformity assessment sector, and the importance of regulating heavy equipment.

At the conclusion of the forum, His Excellency the CEO honored the participating entities in recognition of their contributions to the success of the forum and to enriching the participants’ experience.
