The Saudi Accreditation Center (SAAC) is the national authority officially mandated to provide accreditation services for conformity assessment bodies. It works to enhance their competence, thereby contributing to strengthening the quality infrastructure in the Kingdom, through the following functions:
- Accrediting conformity assessment bodies.
- Providing training services and qualifying assessors in the field of conformity assessment.
- Participating in international and regional organizations.
- Achieving mutual recognition of accreditation certificates.
- Representing the Kingdom in international and regional organizations.
- Coordinating with government entities to obtain relevant data.
- Proposing regulations and legislation related to the field of conformity assessment.
- Conducting specialized studies and research.
- Organizing seminars and conferences.
- Establishing and managing a database related to SAAC’s activities.
